"Millions of stars sparkle in a purple and green sky above an abandoned old barn on the Waterville Plateau. If you look closely at the horizon line, you can just see the green glow of the aurora borealis.
The Waterville Plateau sits nearly 2,000 feet above the Columbia River in Central Washington State. The area is known for its fascinating geological features, expansive skies, and abandoned old farms.
I love this area for photographing the aurora on the rare occasion that it is visible in Washington state. There is very little light pollution and old barns like this one add a fascinating visual element to the images."
