Cascade Falls, in Moran State Park on Orcas Island, tumbles gracefully down a 40-foot rocky cliff.
The Story
“Cascade Falls, in Moran State Park on Orcas Island in Washington State, tumbles gracefully down a 40-foot rocky cliff. This pretty waterfall is one of a series of falls along the aptly named Cascade Creek that runs from Mountain Lake to the salty waters surrounding Orcas Island.
If you are visiting Orcas Island, a trip to the park is well worth your time. The windy road to the top takes you to an old stone tower with views from Mount Rainier to Vancouver, BC, and beyond. Be sure to stop and take in the views from at least one of the lakes in the park, and, of course, navigate the short, although somewhat steep, hike to Cascade Falls.”
